2016 MRV call
With the adoption of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets in the framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity, countries will have to formulate biodiversity indicators and gather data that will feed these.
One of the strategic objectives of the CEBioS programme is to improve the knowledge on the measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) of policy choices and activities linked to biodiversity and ecosystem services.
We intend to work with our partner countries in the South on the development, assessment or implementation of indicators in the framework of their National Biodiversity Strategies. To this end, a second call on MRV projects was launched.
In 2016, the call was exceptionally only open to projects from the D.R. Congo to promote collaboration among institutions in the country.
Eleven projects were selected in the three following themes: fisheries, bushmeat and charcoal.
Policy briefs were created during the closing workshop in Kisangani (D.R. Congo) in October 2017.
