During their internship at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, two PhD students from Benin made posters to explain their research. They also created short videos about these posters, in order to show their efforts to measure the temperature of lake Nokoué, in Benin.

The first video explains their approach to the development of a cheap salinitymeter and thermometer by means of arduino technology so they can operate several sensors at the same time.

The second video shows the first results, where precipitation seems to have a peculiar effect on the temperature of the water. In view of climate change and the expected changes in precipitation frequency, this needs further investigation. Their work was sponsored by the BBI (Bio-Bridge Initiative of the CBD) and CEBioS.
