Lebanon signed the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), the so called “Earth Summit”, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on June 5, 1992. The CBD was ratified by the Government of Lebanon in August of 1994 through Law No. 360
