Full text of the objective 5.1 "Promote stakeholder partnerships at all levels of decision-making relating to biodiversity" from the National Strategy

Flanders:

  • Participatory approach for Nature Objective Plans;
  • representation of stakeholder groups in councils;

Deel integratie (=Deel 5 Minaplan 3 : geïntegreerd overheidsbeleid (intern en extern))

Brussels:

Advisor committees, with representation of different stakeholders and administrations, exists for all projects.
Representation of stakeholder groups in councils for environment.

Walloon Region:

  • the PCDN are municipal initiatives based on local partnership on nature development aiming for the preservation and development of biodiversity by taking account of the ecological network;
  • a River Contract brings together all the actors of the valley with the aim to reach a consensus on an action programme for the restoration of the water course, the river banks and surroundings and the water resources. Invited are representatives of the political, administrative, socio-economic, educational, scientific and associative worlds;
  • a Natural Parc is a rural territory with high biological and geographical interest, subject to measures to protect the environment in harmony with the needs of the population and the socio-economic development.

Federal:

broad consultation of federal partners in the framework of implementation of FPSD2 (elaboration of 4 action plan on integration of biodiversity)

Future actions:

  • Develop partnerships that actively link stakeholders. This implies consultation and collaboration between and within the different authorities and stakeholders in the field;
  • Ensure collaboration in a complementary and integrated way between administrations, both from different sectors as from different policy levels (federal, regional and local levels).
