Wildlife trade

The basis of wildlife trade legislation stems from the transposition of CITES into national law (Law of 1981) and to the European Community regulations on wildlife trade. The 1981 Law has been modified on several instances, most recently by the general laws (loi programme / programmawet) of 2002, 2003 and 2004. The Royal Decree of 2003 elaborates on practical aspects of its implementation.
