The Walloon Senior Nature Conservation Council (Conseil Supérieur Wallon de la Conservation de la Nature - CSWCN) has for mission to give advice to the Minister in charge of nature conservation, on all questions related to nature conservation. This includes, among others, advice on the modification of legislation, on proposals for the creation of protected areas and on the conservation and management of Natura 2000 sites.
The Council presides over the State Nature Reserve Management Consultative Commissions (Commissions Consultatives de Gestion des Réserves Naturelles Domaniales - CCGRND), which supervise the management of State Nature Reserves.
