Event Impacts of international trade on ecosystem services,sixth BEES workshop

The workshop is organised in the frame of the BElgium Ecosystem Services (BEES) project, which is a BELSPO-sponsored cluster project. It is executed by a consortium of 7 partners (UA, VITO, INBO, KULeuven, ULB, RHEA, KBIN, DEMNA). The project aim is “To deliver an overview of the issues at stake, from environmental, methodological, economic to sociological issues, and to advice on priority research and policy actions needed to come to a policy-relevant strategy for ecosystem services in Belgium.”

Target group: Experts involved in research and application on ecosystem services, and who are interested in learning more about this topic. Participants are expected to share their knowledge via small group discussions. This means that this workshop is not aimed at end-users.  End-users of ecosystem services knowledge will be invited for the final BEES symposium (planned for early 2012).

Workshop formula: The workshop is a mix of plenary presentations and facilitated group discussions. The workshop language will be English.

Workshop outputs: The results of this workshop will be a chapter in the BEES proceedings. The chapter of this workshop will be based on the concept note and the discussions during the workshop.  This chapter will also enlist all the workshop participants.

Registration: Is free, but it is compulsory to register by sending an email to alain.peeters@rhea-environment.org
Registered participants will receive a concept paper. Participants are advised to read the concept note beforehand.
