First, for the first time a conference on "socially sustainable economic degrowth" will take place at the European Parliament. This is not just
concerned with "beyond growth", but deals with the present level of production and consumption at least in the OECD countries or the global North, where we may need to degrow, socially sustainably, which has nothing to do with the recession or crisis that we experience now. However this present "growth crisis" offers a window of opportunity.
