L'inauguration officielle du CSB le 14 juin 2014 a lancé un défi à cette jeune institution qui devra désormais jouer pleinement son rôle et s'engager sur terrain comme un centre de référence pour la gestion des informations sur la biodiversité de la R.D.Congo.
Le CSB est opérationnel à travers:
◦ Son Personnel actif et à la hauteur de leurs tâches
◦ Les services ponctuels et efficaces
◦ La direction des départements réglée
◦ le travail (scientifique) bien planifié
