News UNESCO - Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB): Michel Batisse Award for Biosphere Reserve Management 2013

This prize is awarded every two years in memory of Dr Michel Batisse for excellence in the management of the biosphere reserves in line with the recommendations of the Seville Strategy.

The efforts of Dr Michel Batisse to manage biosphere reserves in line with the recommendations of the Seville Strategy are internationally recognized and rewarded periodically. The application form for the Michel Batisse Award (see link below), sent by mail, should reach Federal Science Policy no later than 10 January 2013.

The Batisse Award was granted to Elizabeth Ines Taylor Jay (Colombia) for her case study on “Improving sustainable development and coral reef conservation through community-based watershed management in the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve.

2010
The Michel Batisse award goes to Fabio Kalesnik (Argentina) for “Training on environmental education, conservation and sustainable development and its innovatory initiatives with islanders in the Delta del Paraná Biosphere reserve.
