22-05-2002: Ten years after Rio. What future for biodiversity in Belgium?
In the context of World Summit for Sustainable Development (Rio+10), a symposium was organised at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences to evaluate the implementation in Belgium of engagements taken at Rio concerning biological diversity.
The first part of the symposium briefly presented the existing policy and the action already undertaken for the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity.
The second part started with an overview of the state of biodiversity in Belgium, then continued with the presentation of successful experiences on the integration of biodiversity in sectoral policies.
