News The Executive board members of the Crop Trust visit EB

The Executive board members of the crop trust visited the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI) which hosts the national genebank on 23rd February 2016. The crop trust is an organization who works to ensure the conservation and availability of crop diversity for food security worldwide. Briefings on the activities of EBI were made by the institute’s researchers and discussions were held on present activities and future plans.

The board members then visited the genebank and the microbial laboratory.  The board members appreciated what Ethiopia is doing in conserving crop genetic diversity emphasizing the importance these genetic resources in guarantying global food security.
