The Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI), Mada Walabu University signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the exchange of information on a wide range of natural resources and environmental management related issues especially biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization.

The Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI), Mada Walabu University signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the exchange of information on a wide range of natural resources and environmental management related issues especially biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization.

Signing the MoU, EBI Director General Dr. Gemedo Dalle said that the agreement will enable the two parties to seek and implement programs and activities of common interest.

EBI has more than 39 years long history of success in research and scientific programs aimed at the proper conservation, sustainable utilization and access and benefit sharing of Ethiopia biodiversity and associated indigenous knowledge.

President of Mada Walabu University, Dr. Ketama Meskela said that the agreement will strengthen two sides cooperation in the area of application of research findings, technology transfer, teaching and conducting training programs and workshops.

Mada Walabu University was established in 2007 as a comprehensive University with the aim of producing qualified graduates in various fields focusing to satisfy the demand for highly skilled man power in the country.
