Under the aegis of the Ministry in charge of Scientific Research, and in partnership with the Academic Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, the Aquaculture National Agency, the Academy of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada, the National Academy of Sciences and Techniques of Senegal organizes a workshop on Sustainable Aquaculture in Africa.
This workshop which is to be held on June 27-29, 2010 in Dakar, Senegal, has among other objectives to:share experiences and knowledge in the field of aquaculture;
- revisit African policy in the field of aquaculture;
- build or establish future collaborations; put forward strategies that might be set up as action plan;
- formulate essential recommendations for a better dynamism of this sector, and
- create a partnership network for the development of aquaculture in Africa.
The workshop is in perfect line with the concerns of the ANSTS Strategic plan and it will gather great national, and international experts and we hope the results that drown from this meeting will lead to concrete propositions liable to inspire the actions of the authorities in the implementation of scientific and economic policies defined in this field.
The conference will see the participation of about one hundred fifty participants from Africa, America Asia and Europe among them academicians, government officials, and representatives of the scientific and academic community, development partners, foundations, private sector and media, involved in the development of Aquaculture.
ANSTS will sponsor participation fees, air ticket, and accommodation. Nevertheless, given the limited number of participants to be sponsored, the first applications we receive will be taken into consideration.
